🌸✈️ Spring Break planning is right around the corner! Before you book those trips, please remember: the first week listed as Spring Break (March 30–April 3) may be used for inclement weather make-up days.❗️📅
Please avoid scheduling vacations during this week. Students who miss during these make-up days will receive unexcused absences. Thank you for helping us keep learning on track! 💙🏫

The local restaurant hosted a High School Sports Digital Fundraiser in October and donated 10% of all digital sales made through the McDonald's App to the CCHS athletic department. 📱💛🖤

🎶 Major Achievement for CCHS Band! 🥇
🌟 Congratulations to the Carroll County High School Band of Gold! 🌟

They were awarded the prestigious National Wind Band Honors Mark of Excellence by the Foundation for Music Education! 🎶🎺 Band Director Eric Allen compiled recordings of the band and submitted them for the award. 📼 The judges reviewed submissions based on classes determined by school size. 🏫 National and state winners were selected for each class, and the CCHS Band won for the state of Kentucky! 🏆💙

The band learned about the exciting news earlier this fall, but just received their official banner! 🤩 The unveiling occurred last night following their spectacular fall concert. 🌙 "This achievement tells me they are meeting standards at a national level," Allen said. "They were competing with schools all over the country." 🌎 👏

Our junior class had a fantastic time at the zoo this week! 🦁🐍

Students spent the trip locating the animals they’re researching for their major biology project. Seeing each animal in person helped them visualize the surroundings and ecosystem that the zoo has carefully recreated. They also took a closer look at the other species housed alongside their animal to better understand those ecosystem relationships.

Plenty of photos were taken, notes were made, and lots of learning happened outside the classroom! 📸📝
Great job, juniors! ✨

Missed your chance to give? The Carroll County Food Pantry is still accepting donations and will host a Stuff the Cruiser event on Nov. 22! 🚓🛒 There’s still time to make a difference for neighbors in need. 💛🙏

Our world language students are working hard as they prepare for the Seal of Biliteracy test, a 2.5-hour assessment that measures reading, listening, speaking, and writing in Spanish. 📚🎧✍️🗣️
Today, students took the reading and listening portions. One student has already passed the reading test (way to go, Lydia! 🎉). Yesterday Mrs. McCarty’s Spanish 3 and 4 students practiced listening and speaking, with conversations about daily life, such as food, hobbies, routines, and more. Students created their own questions after listening to Spanish recordings, helping deepen their understanding and build confidence.
Next, they shift to the writing section, where students will use everyday vocabulary to share their thoughts and opinions. ✨
We have 27 students participating in this cycle. Five are current Spanish 3 and 4 students, while the remainder are native Spanish speakers. Another testing session will be available in the spring.
Students who achieve the Seal of Biliteracy receive:
🎓 A seal on their diploma
📝 A note on their transcript
🎀 Golden and red cords at graduation
🚀A boost in future job and academic opportunities.
We’re proud of our students for challenging themselves and building skills that will benefit them for life! 🌎🙌
